Apparently, The Organic Vanilla Bean Company is the source for kick-ass, OMFG-it's-so-vanilla-y, scent-tastic vanilla beans. This is an eBay seller, as a head's-up.

I have recently come into some vanilla beans, and the smell is so amazing that I must do something with them. I've heard you can put them in sugar and make the sugar vanilla-y -- any tips? How much sugar per vanilla bean? Should I slice or cut up the beans? And can I do the same with honey? Or honey and cinnamon sticks? I love cinnamon honey ( Read more... )

I love creme brulee'. There is something amazingly sexy and warm about its rich custard, caramelized top and it seems attractive when I see my husband enjoying this dainty, French treat. at the urging of coraline, i am posting this amazing recipe for sticky black rice with coconut milk. i brought it to a black foods dinner party on Sunday. having made it Saturday night, and planning to eat the last of it tonight, i can say with confidence that it only gets better!
